On the Galapagos islands you have giant tortoises and you can still see them in the wild on Santa Cruz, Isabela an San Cristobal. In earlier days there have been probably 200.000 of them or more in 14 subspecies. Ages of hunting and killing them for their meat reduced their numbers dramatically.
